Drum Lessons
Drum lessons at The Boom Room are taught by Gary Dann, the founder and owner of the studio and the former touring drummer for the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop legends, Digable Planets. With a lifelong passion for drumming and decades of experience performing on global stages and in the studio, Gary provides engaging, personalized instruction for drummers of all skill levels. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to refine your technique, Gary’s lessons focus on building a strong rhythmic foundation, developing coordination, and encouraging creative expression behind the kit.
Guitar Lessons
Guitar lessons at The Boom Room are taught by Kenny Rosario-Pugh (a.k.a. KennyRP), a versatile guitarist born and raised in Philadelphia. Kenny is a 2019 graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance. He plays both acoustic and electric guitar across a wide range of styles, including Jazz, R&B, Funk, Pop, Rock, Blues, Hip-Hop, and Gospel. Kenny has performed live at popular venues throughout the Tri-state area and has played in musical theatre productions at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music, David Geffen School of Drama, and Germantown Academy. Whether you’re picking up the guitar for the first time or looking to sharpen your skills, Kenny brings real-world experience and a deep love for the instrument to every lesson.
Bass Lessons
Bass lessons at The Boom Room are taught by Corey Rader, a multi-instrumentalist with over 20 years of experience specializing in both electric and upright bass. Corey has a strong foundation in music theory, and his teaching approach blends practical musicianship with in-depth theoretical knowledge, helping students develop the skills to navigate and solve musical challenges on their own. He is highly proficient across a range of genres, including jazz, fusion, rock, metal, R&B, and classical music. Whether you are a beginner looking to build a solid foundation or an advanced player looking to refine your technique, Corey provides tailored instruction to meet you where you are.
