The Boom Room is a new recording studio and rehearsal space in Fishtown nestled in the creative triangle between Johnny Brenda’s, Kung Fu Necktie and the El Bar. Many came to our day-long festival of music, food and drink on Saturday Oct 22 to celebrate the launch.
Doodlebug, Philly-based member of Grammy Award-Winning Digable Planets headlined the kickoff party in the guise of Cee Knowledge and the Cosmic Funk Orchestra. The party, with food by chef Josh Massaro, extended from the indoor space to an outdoor stage.
Live outdoor stage performances included:
Cee Knowledge and The Cosmic Funk Orchestra – Doodlebug of the Grammy winning Digable Planets. REAL HIPHOP with the CFO live band and Lady Madarocka.
Cultureal – 10 piece roots reggae ensemble ft. members of West Philly Orchestra.
Fraction Theory – A dj and drummer folk mashup duo…turntablism, live beats, and your moms 60’s folk records.
